As a former NFL player, CEO of publicly traded hospitals, and founder of several successful orthopedic clinics, Derek intimately understands the challenges faced by high-performers seeking balance and fulfillment.

Driven by a passion for fitness and community building, Derek became a prominent figure in the CrossFit world, owning gyms, announcing competitions, and orchestrating large-scale charity events. His journey took a profound turn when he transitioned to leading behavioral and addiction hospitals, confronting the mental health struggles faced by many former athletes and veterans.

Drawing on his unique blend of experiences, Derek founded The Faction Foundation to help individuals align the four pillars of Faith, Family, Fitness, and Finance. His coaching philosophy is built on fostering a supportive tribe, rekindling the camaraderie and mission-oriented spirit that many lose after leaving team environments. Derek's authentic leadership and commitment to holistic growth make him an exceptional guide for those seeking to unlock their full potential.

JOSHUA GONZALES

Chief Operating Officer

Joshua Gonzales, COO of The Faction Foundation, brings a powerful blend of legal expertise, business acumen, and mental health advocacy to the table. His background in law and real estate investing fuels the organization's systematic approach to empowering high-performers.

Joshua's two-year stint answering calls on a suicide hotline at the Arkansas Crisis Center showcases his commitment to mental resilience. As President of the Board, he optimized fundraising processes, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for this critical cause.

A 2x 100-mile ultra-marathon runner with over 20 ultras completed, Joshua embodies the grit and determination central to the Faction Foundation's mission. He views these extreme challenges as a proving ground for life's systems, demonstrating that proper training and mindset can push human potential beyond perceived limits.

Joshua's unique combination of mental health advocacy, legal knowledge, and business optimization makes him a cornerstone of the Faction Foundation. His leadership ensures the organization delivers a robust system for high-performers to achieve peak performance across all life domains.

Zack Cox

Coach

Coach Zack Cox is a relentless force for change, dedicated to eradicating mediocrity in himself and others. His journey from Army Combat Medic to ICU nurse has given him a unique perspective on human resilience and potential.

At 32, Zack faced a pivotal moment. Battling addiction since age 14, he finally confronted the man in the mirror and decided enough was enough. March 3, 2017 became his Day One. Now, with over seven years of sobriety, Zack has transformed his body and mind into powerful instruments of impact.

Zack's approach to coaching is uncompromising yet empathetic. He's guided numerous individuals and families from struggle to strength, leveraging his own journey of overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds.

Balancing his passion for driving change with a strong family life, Zack and his wife, Amanda, of 10 years are raising three children in a home built on honesty and resilience.

Coach Zack's mission is clear: to push people beyond their perceived limits and unlock their full potential, turning obstacles into stepping stones for success.

Corbin Smith

Coach Corbin Smith brings over 30 years of coaching expertise to the Faction Foundation. Born into a college football coaching family, Corbin's journey from standout high school athlete to Division I football player at USC and Iowa laid the groundwork for his coaching philosophy.

Corbin's coaching career spans college football, youth leagues, and high school programs. He's known for revitalizing historic programs and building new ones from the ground up. His approach centers on community, service, growth mindset, discipline, and accountability - principles that align perfectly with the Faction Foundation's mission.

Beyond the field, Corbin's experience in mortgage consulting, medical device sales, and special education has honed his skills in relationship building, leadership, and personal development. He founded a coaching clinic focused on proper fundamentals and player safety, demonstrating his commitment to holistic growth.

A father of three adult sons, Corbin's deep faith and dedication to continuous growth drive his passion for serving others and fostering excellence in all areas of life.

Kylie Price

Becoming a Professional Firefighter and EMT at just 18, she showcases the drive that defines high performers. Her emergency medicine career honed her ability to thrive under pressure - a skill crucial for optimizing life's most challenging moments.

Expanding her expertise to veterinary care, Kylie became a Certified Veterinary Technician, demonstrating a commitment to holistic well-being that aligns with the Foundation's principles.

Over four years, Kylie has leveraged her public visibility to become a powerhouse in social media strategy. She's developed a systematic approach to business advertising on social platforms, turning visibility into tangible results.

Kylie's journey from emergency services to social media maven exemplifies the Foundation's belief in continuous personal evolution. Her ability to excel across diverse fields embodies the adaptability and drive that the Faction Foundation cultivates in its members.

Alexander Brassell

Creative Director

Alexander Brassell, Creative Director at The Faction Foundation, is the visionary behind the organization's video content. An Emmy Award-winning cinematographer, Alexander has nearly a decade of experience working with elite production companies. His diverse skill set includes FAA-certified drone piloting, film coloring, video editing, and voice-over work for brands like Honda and Nike.

As President of Infiniview Studios, Alexander leads a premier media production company, leveraging his technical prowess and storytelling finesse to create impactful visual narratives. Under the alias "ZenZan," he also produces music, collaborating with notable Chicago rappers.

Alexander’s passion for building relationships and crafting compelling content drives his success at The Faction Foundation. He combines his extensive experience and creative vision to produce powerful, engaging video content that effectively communicates the foundation's mission and impact.
